Chin filler is an injectable treatment that aims to improve profile proportions or limited asymmetry by adding temporary volume and support to the chin. It does not correct the dental bite or skeletal lower jaw deformities.
What Is Chin Filler?
The chin is evaluated together with the nose, lips, lower face height and neck angle. Simply adding forward volume does not create a balanced result on every face; width, height and differences between the two sides are also planned.
Filler is a temporary and more limited option compared with surgery. If there is a significantly receding chin, a need for an implant or a dental bite problem, surgical/orthodontic assessment may be more appropriate.

How Does the Process Work?
- After photography and marking, the product is injected in small volumes into the anatomical plane.
- Symmetry and tissue circulation are monitored throughout the injection.
- Uncontrolled additional volume is avoided because of early swelling; a follow-up is planned when necessary.
Safety note: Progressively increasing severe pain, blanching or a net-like pattern on the skin, or changes in vision after filler injection require urgent assessment.
Recovery and follow-up
Swelling, tenderness, bruising and temporary firmness may occur. Increasing severe pain, whitening or a purple net-like pattern on the skin, coldness, or changes in vision or neurological function require urgent assessment.

Frequently asked questions
Does chin filler correct the bite?
No. Filler changes the soft tissue contour; it does not treat skeletal and dental bite problems.
Is chin filler permanent?
No. Its effect diminishes depending on the product used and metabolism.
Can chin filler be dissolved?
Hyaluronic acid products can be reduced with hyaluronidase where appropriate; the procedure has its own risks.
Is it an alternative to a chin implant?
It can be an option for a mild and temporary change; it is not equivalent when there is a significant skeletal need.
Scope of the effect and limits of permanence
The result is temporary and does not change the actual size of the jawbone. A measured volume consistent with facial proportions is targeted; permanent or perfect symmetry is not guaranteed.
Alternatives and complementary options
For a more permanent and noticeable change, a chin implant or genioplasty is considered; for a bite problem, an orthodontic–orthognathic plan is considered.
